MINI is proud to be an official partner of Team GB and ParalympicsGB on their journey to London 2012. MINI is now getting right behind British athletes, via our Performance Team. MINI dealers like us will be pairing up with local athletes, supporting their endeavours to qualify for Team GB or ParalympicsGB.

Hatti Dean – Athletics

Hatti trains at the Hallamshire Harriers in Sheffield. Oxford-born Hatti has been running since the age of seven and, at 29, has already finished fourth in the European Championships steeplechase and is a past winner of the Great Britain National Championships. When asked how she felt about Sytner Sheffield and MINI, she said: “Amy and I are really grateful for the support. It’s tough trying to qualify for a place at the Olympics and it’s a big help knowing that Sytner Sheffield and MINI are behind us.”

Amy Oliver – Archery

Amy trains locally at the Dearne Valley Archery Club in Sheffield. South Yorkshire-born Amy has been an archer since the age of seven and, at just 23, has already won a silver medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, as part of the ladies team, and in 2011 was ranked 1st at the World Championships selection shoot. “It’s fantastic having a brand new MINI Countryman from Sytner Sheffield and MINI,” said Amy. “We do a lot of travelling so it’s great that we have the cars from now until the end of the 2012 Games - and that we can arrive everywhere in style!”

Getting involved

Nigel Marsh, Dealer Principal at Sytner Sheffield, says: “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to get really involved in the Games. We’re really happy to be backing Hatti and Amy – especially since they’re both local athletes training extremely hard in Sheffield to represent their country at London 2012.”
